Lonesome Cowboys (Ramona and Julian) (1968) is a unique and provocative film set in the untamed frontier of the American West. The story revolves around Ramona Alvarez and her nurse, who are constantly under the influence, as they encounter a group of five unconventional cowboys. The seven individuals in this ensemble all have a shared interest in a handsome drifter, except for the transvestite sheriff, who is more concerned with his appearance than anything else. The cowboys, driven by their desires, assault Ramona, leading her to engage in a sexual encounter with the drifter. In the aftermath, Ramona proposes a suicide pact to the drifter, but he declines and ultimately departs with another man, riding off into the sunset.
