The Man in the Iron Mask (1998) unfolds during the reign of King Louis XIV, who ascends to the French throne with a tyrannical approach. His ruthless actions lead to the unjust imprisonment of a soldier named Raoul, who is sent to his demise so Louis can pursue his love interest, Christine. In response, Raoul's retired musketeer father and two other veterans unite to topple the king. Captain D'Artagnan, though disapproving of Louis' actions, remains loyal and declines to join the musketeers' rebellion. However, the group uncovers a hidden secret: Louis has a benevolent twin brother named Phillipe, who has been confined to a castle and concealed behind an iron mask. The question arises whether Phillipe could offer a more compassionate and just rule for the people of France.
