Without Her (2006) follows Camille, who, during a short visit to Florence, experiences a delusion of a massive flood. She is swiftly admitted to a psychiatric facility and diagnosed with Stendhal Syndrome, a transient psychological condition that affects some tourists overwhelmed by the splendor of art. The medical team, deeming it harmless, recommends her return home. Upon her arrival, Camille faces a personal tragedy she had hoped to escape: her mother's disappearance just before her trip. Determined to move forward for her mental well-being, Camille resolves to accept her mother's likely fate. However, a visit to Matane, the last known location of her mother, unveils numerous clues that send Camille on a tumultuous emotional journey.
