Doctor Who: Pyramids of Mars (TV) (1975) begins with the TARDIS touching down in the year 1911, at the residence of siblings Laurence and Marcus Scarman, both accomplished scientists. Laurence urgently seeks the Doctor's assistance, as Marcus has undergone a peculiar transformation following an archaeological expedition to Egypt. The estate is plagued by menacing, cloth-wrapped mummies that prowl the grounds, causing fatalities. Additionally, mysterious radio signals emanating from Mars are detected. The Doctor uncovers a sinister plot involving Sutekh, a formidable alien deity imprisoned for his heinous deeds centuries ago, who is manipulating Marcus to escape his confinement and bring about global destruction.
