Jack Taylor: The Guards (Ep) (2010) follows the tumultuous journey of Jack Taylor, a rough-around-the-edges former Garda (Irish national police) officer who is dismissed for his aggressive behavior towards a government minister. Leveraging his extensive experience, a few key contacts, and affordable rates, Taylor transitions into a role akin to a private investigator, with the help of his more reckless friend, painter Sutton. Anne Henderson enlists Taylor's services to investigate the mysterious disappearance of her teenage daughter, which she suspects is linked to a string of dubious 'suicides.' Taylor's investigation leads him to a seedy factory run by manager Ford, where illegal sex recordings are being made. This revelation is just the beginning of a much larger and more sinister plot, as Taylor faces severe beatings and the tragic death of old publican Sean, who is fatally struck by a car.
