Anthrax (2001) unfolds in a small Alberta ranching community where cattle inexplicably succumb to anthrax, sparking tension and suspicion. An RCMP officer, portrayed by Cameron Daddo, is tasked with maintaining order as local ranchers point fingers at a nearby agricultural research facility. A journalist, played by David Keith, fuels the ranchers' anger, with the officer's mother-in-law, Joanna Cassidy, leading a protest at the research center, headed by Ed Begley, Jr. Tragedy strikes when an eccentric rancher, Jan Rubes, succumbs to a lethal strain of anthrax, prompting a quarantine. Unnoticed, the journalist vanishes along with several vials of the deadly bacteria. The RCMP officer embarks on a personal investigation, aided by a U.S. government agent, William B. Davis, in a race against time to retrieve the stolen anthrax.
