I, His Father (1939) follows the journey of a former boxer who dedicates himself to training his son, guiding him to victory in the middleweight championship of Italy. However, the young champion's life takes a dramatic turn when he becomes entangled with a woman of questionable character. Lured by her charms, he abandons his athletic pursuits to join her at an opulent winter resort. In a moment of vulnerability, he proposes marriage, but she rejects him, urging him to maintain their current arrangement. Realizing the depths of his predicament, the young man returns to his family, who embrace him warmly. Inspired by their support, he rededicates himself to his sporting career.
