Closed Curtain (2013) follows two individuals seeking refuge from societal and legal pressures. A man and his dog, deemed unclean by Islamic law, and a young woman who participated in a forbidden gathering by the Caspian Sea, find themselves hiding in an isolated villa with curtained windows. They eye each other warily, each harboring secrets and suspicions. The man's shaved head and the woman's knowledge of his police pursuit add to the tension. Trapped in a house with no view, they are surrounded by a hostile world. The distant sounds of police and the soothing waves of the sea create a stark contrast to their internal turmoil. In a moment of respite, they gaze at the starry night sky before retreating back into their protective shells.
