The Man in the Lighthouse (2007) centers around Mateo, a dedicated lighthouse keeper who is in a relationship with Suzette, a local teacher. The coastal town they reside in is actively seeking to boost its tourism industry. During a holiday from Manila, Jerome inadvertently discovers Mateo and Suzette in an intimate moment. According to local folklore, a lighthouse fairy lures attractive men, causing them to remain unmarried. Mateo's budding connection with Jerome prompts him to reassess his life and choices.
