Shepherd (1999) is set in a dystopian underground world governed by competing religious factions. The story follows Dakota, a skilled assassin known as a "Shepherd" who works for The Church of Miles. His latest mission involves eliminating a female Shepherd from an opposing cult. However, Dakota's resolve wavers when he discovers that his target has a young child in tow. As the two assassins and the child become the targets of both cults, they form an uneasy alliance to evade their pursuers. Their journey takes them through various peculiar religious enclaves and encounters with rogue elements lurking on the fringes of society.
