Pédale Douce (1996) follows Adrien as he is on the brink of finalizing a significant business agreement with the influential banker, Alexandre. Before the contract is inked, Alexandre extends an invitation to Adrien for a dinner party, with the stipulation that he brings his wife. As a gay man, Adrien turns to his closest friend, Eva, to act as his spouse for the evening. Eva, who runs a lively gay nightclub, is known for her candid demeanor and her disdain for heterosexual men, despite her attraction to them. Alexandre is captivated by Eva and decides to make an impromptu visit to her "restaurant." However, he is displeased by what he witnesses: his colleague, André, and Adrien are enjoying themselves in the company of openly gay men. Unbeknownst to Alexandre, his wife, Marie, has trailed him to the establishment and quickly deduces that her husband is secretly gay. As Alexandre becomes increasingly desperate to win Eva's affection, Marie grows more convinced of her husband's sexual orientation.
