The Unusuals (TV Series) (2009) is a darkly comedic drama that delves into the chaotic world of a notorious NYPD precinct, where the cops and staff are anything but ordinary. The story centers around Detective Casey Shraeger (Amber Tamblyn), who is newly transferred to the NYPD's Homicide unit from Vice. Upon her arrival, Casey is immediately immersed in a world of bullets and bodies, discovering that her new squad is riddled with secrets—secrets that she can use to her advantage, given her own hidden past. The series premiered on April 8th, attracting 6.83 million viewers and a 2.1/6 rating/share in the 18-49 demographic. However, the following week saw a decline to 6.01 million viewers and a 1.8/5 rating. Despite attempts to boost viewership by changing timeslots, the numbers continued to drop, ultimately falling to 4.74 million viewers and a 1.4/4 rating. Despite ABC's hopes for a fresh cop drama, the network decided to cancel the series rather than renew it for a second season.
