Mystery House (1938) begins with a gathering at a secluded hunting lodge, where banker Hubert Kingery summons his colleagues to reveal a shocking allegation: one among them has falsified essential company papers. Tragically, Hubert is later discovered lifeless, with a gunshot wound, and initial indications point to suicide. However, his daughter, Gwen, is unconvinced and seeks assistance from her aunt's nurse, Sarah, who recommends her detective boyfriend, Lance. Lance's arrival brings a fresh perspective, but he too is initially uncertain about the cause of death. As he delves into the scant evidence, Lance must navigate a web of deceit to distinguish truth from fiction.
