Padre nuestro (Sangre de mi sangre) (2007) follows the journey of Juan, who is on the run from a group of hired thugs on the Mexican side of the border. He manages to board a truck carrying undocumented immigrants from Mexico to New York City. During the trip, he forms a bond with Pedro, a naive young man from central Mexico who is traveling to New York to reunite with his wealthy restaurateur father, Diego. Pedro shares a sealed letter from his late mother, intended as an introduction to the father he has never met. Upon reaching New York City, Pedro awakens to find his belongings and newfound friend missing. Stranded and disoriented in an unfamiliar city, Pedro struggles to find his way. Meanwhile, Juan arrives at Diego's residence, presenting the letter and falsely claiming to be Diego's long-lost son, Pedro. The film was recognized at Sundance 2007, where it received The Grand Jury Prize for Dramatic Feature.
