The Loved Ones (2009) follows high school senior Brent Mitchell, who, after a tragic car accident that claims his father's life, struggles with his mother's emotional turmoil and his own guilt. Brent finds solace in a world of loud metal music and marijuana to numb his pain. His life takes a turn when he meets Holly, a beautiful and caring girlfriend who offers him a chance at happiness, including a dream date for the high school prom. However, Brent's plans are disrupted by a series of horrifying events that unfold under a mirrored disco ball. These events involve pink satin, glitter, syringes, nails, power drills, and a secret admirer, turning his prom night into a nightmarish, sadistic spectacle where he becomes the unwilling star of a macabre celebration.
