Envoyés très spéciaux (2009) follows the story of a renowned news radio station, R2I, which dispatches its top reporter duo, journalist Frank and sound engineer Poussin, to Iraq. Their meticulously crafted, real-time reports quickly captivate millions of listeners, offering a vivid portrayal of the conflict and the struggles of the local population. When Frank and Poussin are captured and held hostage, a massive solidarity campaign is launched to ensure their safe return. The French public rallies behind the cause, using the slogan "a euro for our hostages." However, the true dilemma for Frank and Poussin, these two extraordinary correspondents, is not their captivity. The real issue is that they have never actually been to Iraq; their gripping reports are all recorded from the Barbes district in Paris.
