Da grandi (2023) follows the journey of four inseparable friends—Marco, Tato, Serena, and Leo—who, at the tender age of nine, face various challenges and feel overlooked by their families. Marco's parents overlook his birthday and humiliate him over bed-wetting, while Tato's single mother is always in search of love. Serena struggles under her father's pressure to excel in tennis, and Leo, though loved by his grandparents, is left to navigate life without his missing parents. On Marco's birthday, the four friends gather to make a wish: to become adults. Overnight, they magically transform into adults but retain their childlike minds and behaviors. This unexpected change leads them on a series of humorous and unpredictable adventures as they navigate adult responsibilities, such as finding a place to live and securing jobs. Marco even manages to win the heart of his dream woman, the captivating teacher Francesca. However, their newfound adulthood brings more questions than answers, and only time will reveal the true nature of their wishes.
