Trouble in the Glen (1954) follows the journey of Major Jim "Lance" Lansing, a former U.S. Air Corps pilot who returns to Scotland post-war and encounters significant challenges in the glen where he chooses to settle. The primary source of these issues is Sandy Mengues, a wealthy South American who, along with his daughter Marissa, has returned to his ancestral homeland. Mengues' domineering behavior creates tension and unrest among the local community. Lansing steps in to lead the people, ultimately persuading Mengues to bring harmony back to the glen. However, their resolution is preceded by a brief and somewhat unconvincing altercation between Lansing and Dukes, the foreman of the Mengues estate.
