The Light Touch (1951) follows the tale of Sam and Felix, a duo of art thieves with a cunning plan. Sam has recently pilfered a valuable painting from an Italian museum but deceives Felix by claiming it was lost in a maritime mishap. His scheme involves creating copies to sell while keeping the original for himself, doubling his profits. To execute this, they recruit Anna, a young, attractive, and unsuspecting artist. When Anna begins to have reservations, Sam manipulates her into marriage and they embark on a honeymoon to Sicily. Anna eventually uncovers Sam's criminal activities, leading to her disillusionment. Meanwhile, Felix discovers Sam's deception and seeks the original painting, while law enforcement and a prospective buyer are also in pursuit.
