AUN: The Beginning and the End of All Things (2011) explores the intellectual threads woven by the late Claude Lévi-Strauss in his anthropological works from the 20th century, alongside the distinctive beliefs of Japan's Shintoism, which reveres millions of deities that inhabit and safeguard nature. The narrative delves into the contrast between humanity and nature, envisioning a future where existence is purely sensory. The film incorporates references to Brazilian author Clarice Lispector, Italian anthropologist Fosco Maraini, and Japanese writer Yoko Tawada, blending their perspectives to create a rich tapestry of cultural and philosophical exploration.
