Flightplan (2005) follows Kyle Pratt (Jodie Foster), a grieving mother traveling from Berlin to New York on a cutting-edge 474 aircraft. At an altitude of 40,000 feet, her six-year-old daughter, Julia, inexplicably disappears. Already reeling from her husband's sudden death, Kyle must navigate a harrowing journey to prove her sanity to the skeptical flight crew and passengers. Captain Rich (Sean Bean) and Air Marshal Gene Carson (Peter Sarsgaard) are reluctant to doubt her, but all indications suggest that Julia was never on the plane, fueling paranoia and uncertainty. Isolated and desperate, Kyle must use her own resourcefulness to unravel the mystery and rescue her daughter.
