The Merchant of Venice (TV) (1973) follows the story of Antonio, a wealthy merchant who lends his friend Bassanio money to pursue his romantic interests. Bassanio secures the loan from Shylock, a Jewish moneylender, using Antonio's assets as collateral. However, when the repayment deadline arrives, Shylock insists on an unusual and harsh form of repayment: a pound of Antonio's flesh.
