Silenced (2011) follows Gang In-ho, a dedicated father working tirelessly to fund his daughter's surgery, as he takes on a new role at a specialized school in Gwangju for hearing-impaired children. However, his new position quickly reveals a dark and disturbing reality: the students are subjected to severe physical and sexual abuse by their educators. Determined to protect the children and bring the perpetrators to justice, In-ho joins forces with human rights advocate Seo Yu-jin. Together, they uncover a web of corruption and deceit, as they confront not only the school's administration and teachers but also the local police, prosecutors, and even influential religious institutions that are complicit in concealing the truth.
