Single-Handed (TV Series) (2007) follows the story of Jack Driscoll, a Garda Sergeant who returns to his hometown in the secluded western region of Ireland after being reassigned from Dublin. He steps into the shoes of his father, Gerry, who recently left the same position. Jack's initial significant case involves the mysterious death of a young woman discovered in a secluded caravan. As he delves deeper, Jack encounters resistance from the tight-knit community, which complicates his efforts to identify the victim. What initially appears to be an accidental death begins to reveal a darker, more sinister narrative. Jack's investigation unravels a complex web of blackmail and sexual abuse, implicating several key figures in the community, including a local farmer, a hotel owner, his father's long-time friend, and a notorious builder known for his violent tendencies.
