The Stone Rider (1923) tells the tale of a tyrannical figure, Klein-Rogge, who resides in a desolate castle atop a mountain. Their love story is fraught with challenges, including the Master's violent response to an impertinent guest at their wedding and a subsequent peasant uprising that results in the castle being overrun and the Master's capture. Ultimately, the lovers manage to escape, but their love story meets a tragic end.
