The Blackboard Jungle (1955) follows Richard Dadier, a dedicated educator who takes on a challenging teaching position at a high school where students hold sway and the faculty struggles to maintain order. Dadier's attempts to assert his authority are met with fierce resistance from both students and colleagues. The tension escalates when his pregnant wife receives anonymous letters falsely accusing him of an affair with a woman at the school. In a fit of anger, Dadier accuses Gregory Miller, a black student he suspects is against him. Miller neither confirms nor denies the accusation, instead intensifying the confrontation, leaving the truth about the letters' origin unclear.
