The Broken Lullaby (1932) follows the emotional journey of a young French soldier who, during World War I, is haunted by the guilt of killing a German soldier. The two soldiers, unbeknownst to each other, shared a deep love for music and had both attended the same prestigious musical conservatory in France. The soldier's remorse is profound, as the horrors of war do little to ease his conscience. Driven by a need for redemption, he embarks on a poignant journey to Germany to meet the family of the fallen soldier, seeking solace and a chance to make amends.
