Rip Van Winkle (Faerie Tale Theatre Series) (TV)

Things are bound to have changed a bit when you wake up after a twenty-year nap, as Rip Van Winkle (Alien's Harry Dean Stanton) finds out in Francis Ford Coppola's (The Godfather) charming retelling of the classic tale by Washington Irving. Rip's not the most ambitious man in town-he'd much rather sit around dreaming or talking with his friends, which drives his nagging wife Wilma (Rocky's Talia Shire) crazy. When he goes deep into the mountains to hunt, he meets up with some ghosts and has what is most definitely the most action-packed night of his life. No wonder he needs a nap! But what happens when he discovers he's slept a little longer than he meant to?
