In this drama from the director of "Bread and Chocolate," a group of friends and relatives gather at the country home of Marta, a dying opera star. Marta's brother, Nicky, arrives at the house with his much younger lover, Picchio, in tow. There, they meet Anna and Claudia, a pair of lesbian lovers who live with Marta and regard her as a substitute mother. Although the group hopes to take a trip together to Venice, their plan falls apart when Marta dies. The death forces Nicky, Anna and Claudia to reflect upon their lives and figure out how to get by without Marta, who has done so much for them. In the process, these immature adults finally realize they must now grow up and become responsible.
