Based on a true story, La plegaria del vidente ventures into making a fiction out of a particular theory regarding the strange case of “the crazy road man”. The story's starting point is the finding of the body of a strangled prostitute in the outskirts of Mar del Plata, a fact that joins a detective, a journalist, and a psychic around a complex investigation that will trigger other crimes. The film is a police story shaped as a thriller, and dives into the hell pits of the coastal city avoiding the postcard picture and managing to turn the Mar del Plata landscape into an unprecedented setting for Argentine genre cinema. Gonzalo Calzada's storytelling has an electric rhythm, and takes the three protagonists through the search of a truth that will force them to deal with their own pasts, rubbing old wounds and connecting them with their own truths.
