Monika lives in a small Swedish town together with her husband, municipal counsellor Tore, and their two children. When Tore is killed in a plane crash, Monika is left with a deep sorrow and a feeling of loss. A series of memories are revived and the film becomes a portrait of the long marriage where happy recollections are mixed with quarrels and conflicts. Rushing Into His Arms portrays people who have faults and failings and are perhaps a little troublesome, but are as a result more credible. The film is based on Yvonne Gröning’s book Kärleks Pris which gives an account of the time following her husband’s death in a plane crash 1989.
