Chas is a mafia performer, a hit-man who tortures his victims with artistic originality. When he runs into difficulties with his capo, he is forced to go into hiding. He decides to take refuge in the basement of an old building in the outskirts of London. The landlord, played by Mick Jagger, is an ex-rock star called Turner. He lives with two women with whom he forms a threesome, and spends his days consuming magic mushrooms and improvising on his guitar. At first Chas and Turner have their run-ins, but gradually, in a voyage of mutual exploration, they realize that they are both performers, and that it is a thin line which separates them.
