At the age of 43, having sacrificed almost everything for professional success, a strong, beautiful French woman, Hélène (Carole Bouquet), decides to redirect her life. Her desire to become a mother takes her to Argentina in search of a child she can adopt. There she discovers Northeast, a wild region where the amazingly beautiful landscape contrasts dramatically with the misery and poverty of its inhabitants. While getting to know the people and becoming closer to them, Hélène must face her own insecurities.
