Home at Hong Kong (1983) follows the journey of Alan Wong, a young man from Hong Kong with ambitious aspirations to ascend the social hierarchy. With the assistance of Erica, a woman of mixed ethnicity and the mistress of a foreign businessman, Alan secures a position in a real estate company. His keen eye for opportunities propels him to a high-ranking position. Later, Alan encounters Cheung Ting Ting, a Mainland Chinese girl who has entered Hong Kong illegally. He is moved by her plight and finds himself falling in love with her. As the real estate market faces a downturn, many foreign businessmen depart from Hong Kong. However, Alan and Erica remain steadfast in their decision not to emigrate overseas.
