Ten Dollars or Ten Days (S) (1924) follows the story of a soda clerk at a department store who, after a restless night, finds his day at work spiraling downhill. His interactions with a charming cashier, to whom he is drawn, and a ribbon clerk, who also has feelings for the cashier, become strained due to his poor mood. The next day, the cashier is accused of a robbery that took place overnight at the store. However, circumstantial evidence suggests that the soda clerk might be responsible for both the $10,000 heist and the presumed murder of the store's nightwatchman, who has vanished. The soda clerk is arrested and jailed, while the cashier is freed. Key evidence about the robbery and the nightwatchman's disappearance surfaces, but getting this information to the right authorities proves to be a challenging endeavor for those involved.
