My Boss, My Hero (2001) is a gangster comedy centered around a prosperous young mobster who has seized control of the trendy Myeongdong district in Seoul. The story takes an unexpected turn when the mobster confuses the renowned poet Yun Dong-ju with a type of liquor, leading his gang to believe his lack of knowledge is a source of shame. To rectify this, the gang members pool their resources and enroll their boss in high school, aiming to educate him and restore his dignity.
