When lord Dylan Brooks, a relief charity doctor, returns from Africa, he finds his mother mortgaged the family's Cornwall seaside estate to the hilt and beyond to turn it into a discarded horses asylum. He seeks a bank loan and accepts the terms of Gillian Morris, an ambitious Dixieland immigrant who risks expulsion and her bank CEO job unless she finds a British husband.
