A portrait of the Borgia family, originally from Valencia, one of the richest and most influential families of Renaissance Europe. They where also known as "the first criminal family of history" and apparently poisoned many of their enemies. The family counted amongst their ranks two popes (Callixtus III and Alexander VI), the lineage of the Dukes of Gandia, the political leader Cesare Borgia, the patron of arts Lucrezia Borgia (Duchess of Ferrara) and the founder of the Gregorian University of Rome, Saint Francis Borgia.
