Carrie (1976) follows the story of Carrie White, a shy and isolated high school student who is the daughter of a devoutly religious mother. During a traumatic incident in the school locker room, Carrie experiences her first menstrual period and, due to her lack of knowledge about menstruation, believes she is dying. Her classmates, led by the malicious Chris Hargensen, cruelly mock her and throw sanitary products at her. This humiliating event sets the stage for a series of vengeful actions. Sue Snell, one of the girls involved, feels remorseful and convinces her boyfriend, Tommy Ross, to invite Carrie to the prom as a way to make amends. Meanwhile, Chris Hargensen plots a sinister revenge by arranging for Carrie to be crowned prom queen and then orchestrating a bucket of pig’s blood to be dropped on her during the ceremony. However, Carrie's latent telekinetic abilities, which have been growing stronger due to her emotional turmoil, are unleashed with devastating consequences, leading to a night of terror and retribution.
