Parallel Mothers (2021) follows the intertwined journeys of two women who find themselves in the same hospital room, both on the brink of childbirth. Neither is in a relationship, and both have conceived unexpectedly. Janis, a woman in her forties, embraces her pregnancy with joy and excitement. In contrast, Ana, a young teenager, is filled with fear, regret, and trauma. As they navigate the hospital corridors together, Janis attempts to comfort Ana, and their brief conversations forge a deep bond. This connection, born out of chance, evolves into a complex relationship that profoundly alters the course of both their lives.
