Le concert (The Concert) (2009) follows the story of Andrei Simoniovich Filipov, a once-celebrated conductor of the Bolshoi orchestra, who was dismissed three decades prior for employing musicians of Jewish descent. Now reduced to a custodial role at the Bolshoi, he stumbles upon an opportunity when he discovers that the Châtelet Theater in Paris has extended an invitation to the Bolshoi orchestra for a performance. Seizing this chance, Filipov assembles his former ensemble, including Jewish and Romani musicians, to take the stage in Paris instead of the current Bolshoi orchestra. To complete his ensemble, he enlists Anne-Marie Jacquet, a talented young violinist. If they can navigate the challenges that lie ahead, this extraordinary performance promises to be a resounding success.
