Doctor Sleep (2019) follows Danny Torrance, now an adult, as he grapples with the lingering trauma from his experiences at the Overlook Hotel. Struggling with alcoholism and anger, he finds solace in helping the terminally ill at a hospice, where his "shining" abilities resurface. Danny forms a psychic bond with a young girl named Abra, who possesses similar extraordinary powers. However, their connection draws the attention of a sinister group known as the True Knot, who feed on the psychic energy of those with the "shining" ability, particularly when they are in the throes of excruciating death.
