Lawrence of Arabia (1962) unfolds during the tumultuous year of 1916, as a young British officer, Lawrence (Peter O'Toole), is dispatched from his post in Cairo to undertake a crucial mission. His task is to forge an alliance with Prince Feisal (Alec Guinness), the leader of the Arab revolt, who is fighting alongside the British against the Ottoman Empire, backed by the Germans. Lawrence's deep understanding of Arab culture earns him the trust of Prince Feisal, who invites him to join his staff. Lawrence's bravery and strategic prowess quickly win him the admiration of the Arab tribes. As his tactical brilliance in guerrilla warfare becomes apparent, Lawrence takes on the role of the de facto leader of the Arab revolt, successfully uniting the previously divided tribes into a formidable force.
