Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) follows the story of John Rambo, who is released from prison by his ex-commander, Colonel Samuel Trautman, to undertake a clandestine mission. The objective is to infiltrate Vietnam and gather photographic evidence of American prisoners of war (POWs) still held captive. However, Rambo's personal mission evolves into a daring rescue operation. Partnering with Co Bao, a local Vietnamese freedom fighter, Rambo navigates treacherous terrain and hostile forces led by the ruthless Captain Vinh and his Russian ally, Lieutenant Colonel Padovsky. As Rambo's bond with Co Bao deepens, her tragic demise at the hands of Captain Vinh fuels his thirst for vengeance. Driven by both revenge and his original mission, Rambo launches a relentless assault on the enemy, determined to free the POWs and expose the corrupt American officials, including Marshall Murdock, who are complicit in the operation.
