55 Days at Peking (1963) follows a diverse group of diplomats, military personnel, and other international representatives as they band together to withstand the siege of the International Compound in Peking during the tumultuous 1900 Boxer Rebellion. Despite their varied interests and the challenges posed by competing factions, overwhelming odds, and delayed reinforcements, they unite for survival. The situation is further complicated by the tacit support of the Boxers by the Empress of China and her generals, adding layers of intrigue and danger to their already perilous situation.
