Bitten Bullet (2009) follows the story of Mauro Hernandez, a young officer in the preventive police force who becomes entangled in a cocaine transaction. When complications surface, Mauro hands over his firearm to conceal the deal. The situation spirals out of control as the media becomes involved, transforming a scandal about substandard body armor into a probe of police fund misappropriation. Mauro is portrayed as a victim of administrative corruption. Leveraging the authority of his uniform and the media's sympathy, Mauro begins to extort those who stand in his way. This leads to a grim power struggle within the police force, marked by espionage, murders, and betrayals, as Mauro and his commander become embroiled in a dangerous conflict.
