Winter Kept Us Warm (1965) is set in the vibrant 1960s at the University of Toronto, where Doug, a charismatic senior, and his girlfriend are well-liked among their peers. Peter, a timid freshman new to the city, finds himself drawn into Doug's world. The two become inseparable, enjoying concerts, socializing, and even playing in the snow together. Their bond deepens when Doug invites Peter to a steam bath, leading to an intimate moment that Doug interprets as a shift in their relationship. However, complications arise when Peter has a sexual encounter with a female student at a party, adding layers of complexity to their friendship.
